Sooo delicious, one of my favorite udon spots in SJ. Broth is flavorful, has an umami taste. I went with the tonkatsu udon and my boyfriend got the deluxe with the braised pork belly which was soft, tender, marinated well. I love the shrimp tempura as well, nice crunch to it. We got a katsu cutlet on the side which was juicy and crispy. Great coming here for a warm, comfort meal.

Second time here, and I prefer this location over SF and SJ bc of the nice outdoor seating:) Service here is QUICK! food came out within 5 minutes which is pretty wild. Noodles are so yum and portions are great--the large may be better for when you're like actually starving. Love how rice bowls come with a mini udon -- good bang for buck. Recommend the cream udons for anyone who likes cream pastas in general and wants something special in flavor. I always ask for the ajitama (soft boiled egg) instead of ontama(poached) bc the ajitama truly ups ur quality of life. There is free public parking everywhere in this area, and also nearby plenty of desserts/coffee spots!!

Came here for dinner and tried the Mentaiko udon. Wow it was an explosion of flavors. Reminds me of lobster bisque, rich and creamy but still light in a broth that's not too thick. Wish there was something to cut the creaminess or a protein like fish otherwise it's mainly just noodles and garnish. Tempura was ok it was heavily battered and hard not light and crispy but it's a great deal for the amount of variety and price! Love how they have add on small bowls of rice or udon for additional fee. The service was great, prompt and friendly and the place was clean. Nice dark ambience with Japanese decor.

I've been on the hunt for the best mentai cream pasta/udon in the bay area and I think Udon Mugizo is my top restaurant for it! The udon was chewy, creamy, and wasn't fishy. I liked that there were sprouts to add freshness to a creamy dish. I added a good amount of the chili powder that they had and it made the dish even more perfect! I do wish it came with some sort of protein to eat alongside the udon, but I did order a side of shrimp tempura which was classic and fresh. The service was great! The workers were very accommodating and checked on my table often. The restaurant has a lot of booths and isn't too small. I really enjoyed my experience here and am excited to come back!
